Sprachgefühl

A Bachelor of Arts in French and German was a big clue that I always had an intuitive feeling for language – or as the Germans call it, Sprachgefühl.

A degree in languages has served me well throughout my career. I have an inherent curiosity and I understand the nuances involved in communication.

No wonder then, copywriting has increasingly played a role throughout my career.

Annual Reports, press releases, internal communications, crisis communications, billboards, video scripts, radio scripts, commercial presentations, EDMs, social media, long form copy and website copy… I have extensive experience that also helps me quickly marry brand messaging in the right tone of voice to what the user needs to read.

Discover the magic with a General Admission ticket

27 October 2023 • Written by VRC

The 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins on Saturday 4 November with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day and the curtain raiser to a week of world-class racing, food, fashion, and entertainment.

A General Admission ticket to Cup Week starts at just $60 and is a powerful thing with so much more than just racecourse entry. Once through the famous Flemington gates, your world – as they say – is your oyster (and champagne).

UX Writing

The Daily UX Writing Challenge

I was already midway through a UX writing course when I came across The Daily UX Writing Challenge, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put some theory into practice.

Every morning was filled with the excitement of opening up a new writing challenge, the chance to create something, and to dive into a new topic.

I love what is involved as a UX writer — the art of finding the exact words to complete the design of an interface and to create a frictionless experience for the user.

UX Writing Course

As a certified UX writer (and mentor), I get a thrill from the precision of microcopy and going down research rabbit holes. I love collaborating with design and product teams to create seamless and creative user experiences.

Feedback from Carly Gray (instructor)

Handshake is ready for launch! 🚀I loved the approach you took for all of your design insights, including the app illustrations and all of the fun language! Just be sure to give all screens a last look for lengthy sentences and other areas that might

need extra legal text.

Your proposed changes, tooltips, and microcopy were completely persona- motivated. You helped the team understand proposed changes and the “so what?” behind them. Continue to ask questions and collaborate!

Terms, capitalization, and text formatting (including numbers) were consistent throughout. Superb attention to detail!

Fantastic, appropriate voice and tone throughout the entire design. This is a seriously difficult skill to master, and it was extremely well executed in your writing.
